Warrenton Girls Claim State Basketball Title

The team overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to secure their first state championship. Throughout the tournament, the Warrenton squad demonstrated resilience by winning five of six games, with their only defeat coming against Madras/Warm Springs in a Saturday matchup.

The championship roster includes six eighth graders and four seventh graders, with six of the players having competed together for five years. Their journey to the title included victories over Yamhill-Carlton (52-40), Crescent Valley (45-17), Banks (40-28), and Seaside (48-20) before the championship game showdown.
