Bengals skip franchise tag on star DE Hendrickson

The Cincinnati Bengals have decided against using the franchise tag on star defensive end Trey Hendrickson, who is now set to hit the open market.

Hendrickson will become an unrestricted free agent this offseason after missing over half of the 2025 season due to injury. The former All-Pro, who recorded 81 sacks and 236 tackles during his tenure in Cincinnati, is now a top target for teams this year.

Analysis suggests the Bengals were unwilling to meet his contract demands following the decline of a previous extension.
