Chiefs to Release OT Jawaan Taylor If Trade Fails, Sources Say

The Kansas City Chiefs have informed offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor that he will be released before the start of the new league year unless a trade partner is found.

The move is designed to help the team get under the NFL salary cap, as Taylor's release will save the Chiefs approximately $20 million. Taylor, 28, has started 111 games over seven seasons but is entering the final year of his contract.
