NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman visited Calgary on Monday to inspect Scotia Place as a potential venue for the 2028 World Cup of Hockey.

Deputy commissioner Bill Daly joined the commissioner for meetings with ownership and a tour of the arena's construction site. The $1.2 billion venue, slated to open in fall 2027, is on the short list to host the international hockey event scheduled for February 2028. Venue announcements are expected in two weeks.
