The Boston Celtics have officially signed 24-year-old guard John Tonje to a two-way contract. The former Jazz player, selected 53rd overall in the 2025 NBA Draft, began his professional career with the Salt Lake City Stars before being traded to Boston in a deal involving Chris Boucher.

Tonje, who earned Second Team All-American honors at Wisconsin after transferring from Colorado State, made his NBA debut on February 24 against Phoenix and scored his first league points against Brooklyn on February 27. The sixth-year player averaged 19.6 points per game during his final collegiate season at Wisconsin.
