Acosta, the 21‑year‑old from Murcia, took the checkered flag on the final corner of the sprint race at the Thai circuit after a fierce battle with world champion Marc Márquez. The Spaniard’s win came amid a controversial penalty for Márquez, who was penalised by officials for a clash.
The victory marks Acosta’s first triumph in the premier class, following two titles in intermediate categories. Raúl Fernández finished third on an Aprilia, completing a Spanish podium that also highlighted KTM’s and Ducati’s presence.
