Doohan Revealed Death Threats Before F1 Drop

Former Alpine driver Jack Doohan revealed he received death threats and had police intervene during an encounter with armed men before losing his Formula 1 seat.

According to the latest Netflix documentary "Drive To Survive", Doohan received six or seven threatening emails before the Miami Grand Prix, warning that his limbs would be cut off if he remained in the car. He also described an incident where he saw three armed men and called his police escort for assistance.

The Australian driver, who was dropped by Alpine and replaced by Franco Colapinto after Miami, had previously mentioned facing online abuse from what he indicated were fans of Colapinto's home country of Argentina. Doohan made his debut for Alpine in 2024 and is now a reserve driver for Haas.
