Mikayla Blakes scored 35 points to lead No. 5 Vanderbilt past No. 24 Alabama 85-60 on Thursday night, securing the Commodores' first 16-0 home record in program history.

Mikayla Blakes poured in 35 points, including a late third-quarter 3-pointer, to power No. 5 Vanderbilt to an 85-60 victory over No. 24 Alabama. Sacha Washington added 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Commodores, who dominated the fast break with 20 points compared to Alabama's five.

Vanderbilt improved to 26-3 overall and 12-3 in the SEC, gaining a one-game lead over No. 4 Texas for the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament. Alabama dropped to 21-8 and 10th in the conference standings.
