Cincinnati Sues QB Sorsby for $1M NIL Buyout

The University of Cincinnati has filed a lawsuit in federal court against former quarterback Brendan Sorsby, alleging a breach of his multi-year NIL revenue-sharing agreement signed in July 2025. The Bearcats are seeking a $1 million buyout payment, which was reportedly due within 30 days of Sorsby entering the transfer portal.

Sorsby announced his transfer to Texas Tech on Jan. 4, officially joining the Red Raiders on Jan. 6. Cincinnati Athletics stated they intend to enforce the contractual commitment, emphasizing their duty to honor agreements and protect university resources.
