AIA Puts Coolidge Athletics on Probation

The Arizona Interscholastic Association has placed Coolidge High School's entire athletics department on 365-day probation following taunting allegations during a boys basketball playoff game.

The penalties include a playoff ban for all teams at the school, which Coolidge is currently appealing. The allegations arose from a quarterfinal matchup where Coolidge defeated Chinle, 64-53, with video footage submitted to the AIA prompting an investigation.

If upheld, sanctions would disqualify Coolidge from postseason play in all sports for one year, including forfeiting Friday's 3A state semifinal against Snowflake.
