Luis Gil shines in spring debut as Yankees fall to Mets

Luis Gil delivered a solid spring performance, allowing just one run over 2.2 innings, but the New York Yankees fell to the Mets 6-4.

Gil looked sharp in his first Grapefruit League start, mixing three pitches and maintaining velocity while striking out three batters. His fastball sat in the mid-90s, and his changeup looked effective against Mets hitters.

The Mets, however, powered their way to a 6-4 victory with a quartet of home runs. Despite a late rally from the Yankees, including a solo shot from José Caballero, the Bombers failed to capitalize on multiple bases-loaded opportunities.
