On Wednesday, the Chargers announced the release of three players in offensive guard Mekhi Becton, tight end Will Dissly, and offensive tackle Savion Washington.

Reports came out earlier on Wednesday regarding the Bolts “expected to” release Becton in the coming days and it looks like the team didn’t want to wait even 24 more hours before making the move. Becton played in 14 games in his lone year with the Chargers and unfortunately had one of his worst seasons of his career. Between nagging injuries and dismal play on the field, the Chargers had no choice but to move on as they look to revamp the interior protection for Justin Herbert.

Dissly signed with the Chargers prior to the 2024 season. He recorded career highs of 50 receptions and 481 yards that year while starting eight games. This past season, an injury took some time from the veteran but he otherwise found himself as a healthy scratch in favor of rookie Oronde Gadsden II and Tucker Fisk. He ended the 2025 campaign with just 11 catches for 97 yards in nine games played.

Washington was signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft out of Washington. He did not see time on the active roster while with the Chargers.
