Recently released Dolphins star predicted to sign with AFC South team

The Miami Dolphins have already made a few big changes this offseason, including overturning their coaching staff and moving on from some of the most talented players on their roster.

Among those players that Miami is parting ways with is linebacker Bradley Chubb, whose release as a post-June 1 cut will open up $20.23 million in cap space for the 2026 season.

There are a lot of teams that could use a strong pass rusher this offseason, and ESPN's Aaron Schatz projected that the Colts will sign Chubb for at least this year.

"The Colts ranked just 30th in pass rush win rate (29.1%) last season, and three of their top four pass rushers are hitting free agency. So, this is a good time to bring in a veteran," Schatz wrote. "The Dolphins cut Chubb to clear money off their salary cap, but he is still just 30 years old. He had 8.5 sacks last season with 36 pressures."

It's tough to expect Chubb to make up for the production of Kwity Paye, Tyquan Lewis and Samson Ebukam next year, but he can certainly help make things easier if all three depart in the coming weeks.

As for Miami, they won't be looking to bring Chubb back, and right now, the only true edge rusher they have right now is 2024 first-round pick Chop Robinson. They'll need to invest in the position at some point in the offseason because, as of now, their defensive front is set to be significantly weaker, which will only make the thin cornerback room look even thinner.
