2026 NFL free agency: Projecting one signing for every team | ESPN.com
New York Giants:m CB Eric Stokes (LV) Cornerbacks are a tough choice in free agency because they are so inconsistent from season to season. Stokes was one of the worst cornerbacks in the league in 2024, but he transformed into one of the league’s best in 2025 with 53 total tackles and five passes defensed.
It’s safe to say that we don’t know what version of Stokes we’ll see in 2026. But this is a clear position of need for the Giants, who ranked 17th in yards allowed per completion last season (10.9). They can take a chance that Stokes is closer to his 2025 play.

WR Wan’Dale Robinson. While Robinson is coming off career highs in receiving yards (1,014) and yards per reception (11.0), he has never scored more than four touchdowns in a season. With an estimated Robinson’s average annual value on a new deal at $21 million a season, over $20 million a season is a lot to pay a chain-moving slot guy who thrives as much on target volume as anything else. But Robinson is also just 25 years old, and there are multiple teams with both a need for passing-game weapons and cap space to burn. Looking at you, Tennessee.

New York Giants: WR Makai Lemon, T Blake Miller. With Wan’Dale Robinson a free agent that should cash in, he may be priced out of New York. Consequently, the Giants should find a slot replacement — and Lemon would be just that, generating 3.13 yards per route run while playing 75.6% of his career snaps inside. It would be hard to opt against Ohio State’s Carnell Tate with this pick, either.
New York’s offensive line could also be in flux with Jermaine Eluemunor and Greg Van Roten uncertain to return. Miller would be a viable solution in the second round after posting an 83.5 PFF pass-blocking grade in 2025, possibly playing either right tackle or guard.

Carnell Tate has a message for the New York Giants and the rest of the NFL.
Tate has met with the Giants – no surprise – and yes, he would love the chance to play opposite Malik Nabers, catching passes from Jaxson Dart for coach John Harbaugh in the Big Apple.“If you want a game changer, you got one right here,” the Ohio State star wide receiver told the crowd in front of Podium No. 5 here at the Scouting Combine on Friday morning. Asked to name the best receiver in the Class of 2026, Tate did not hesitate: “Me, no question.”

Regardless, it’s not going away. As one high-level employee with another team told PFT on Friday, “Steve has to go.”
