The Giants could target a potential game-changing receiver with the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and Carnell Tate would be an especially snug fit.
Tate has met with the Giants, and is excited about the possibility of teaming up with Malik Nabers, who is expected to be back healthy this coming season after missing most of 2025 after tearing his ACL.
"That would be a great opportunity, especially playing in New York," Tate said on Friday at the NFL Combine. "Big showcase, also. I'd love to go out there and play in New York."
Tate, whom SNY NFL Insider Connor Hughes had going to the Giants in his most recent mock draft, said he's the best receiver in the draft class.
"Mindset, the catching, the route-running, the blocking," Tate said while describing what he brings to the table.
Aside from Nabers, the Giants' receiver situation is in flux.
Wan'Dale Robinson is an unrestricted free agent following a breakout season, while Darius Slayton is coming off a down year fresh off signing a three-year extension.
Tate had 51 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns last season for Ohio State, averaging 17.2 yards per catch, but missed three games due to a lower-body injury.
His biggest performance came on Oct. 4 against Minnesota, when he reeled in nine catches for 183 yards and a touchdown.
