An NHL legend’s son has taken a big step in his own hockey career.
Landon Marleau, son of San Jose Sharks icon Patrick, made his OHL debut with the Kingston Frontenacs on Monday.
Landon, 19, grew up playing for the San Jose Jr. Sharks program but this season he was playing for the Wellington Dukes of the Ontario Junior Hockey League before his OHL call-up. A left-shot centre, Landon had 21 goals and 39 points in 36 games with the Dukes.
Patrick Marleau is the NHL’s all-time leader in games played with 1,779 over his 23 seasons. He was a three-time all-star who also won two Olympic gold medals with Team Canada.
