Maryland's Locksley Faces Potential Firing Amid UCLA Blowout

Maryland suffered a humiliating 54-3 defeat to unranked UCLA, dropping the Terrapins to 2-2 on the season. The lopsided loss has intensified speculation about coach Mike Locksley's future, with Maryland potentially owing him $9.2 million if fired during this calendar year.

Locksley, who is 38-46 as Maryland's head coach, hasn't led the Terrapins to more than eight wins in a season during his tenure. Despite originally being in his final contract year, automatic extensions in 2022 and 2023 have him tenured through 2028. With tensions building over his job security and the Big Ten schedule ahead, all eyes will be on whether a coaching change could come mid-season or in the offseason. ipltable.lol
