MAC Appeals Michigan-WMU Result

The Mid-American Conference appealed the outcome of the Michigan-Western Michigan game, asking NCAA officials to recognize the Broncos as the actual winner due to a replay protocol error.

The MAC filed an appeal Tuesday, claiming replay officials improperly added one second to the game clock after it had expired, allowing Michigan to score the game-winning touchdown on a Hail Mary pass. Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher stated the established protocol requires using the program-feed clock, not the replay system's internal clock. h-doctor.club

Western Michigan initially accepted the Big Ten's explanation that time remained on a separate clock, but after further investigation, the MAC determined the replay protocol was not properly followed. The conference is requesting the NCAA and College Football Playoff to recognize Western Michigan as the actual winner.
