Record climber Nirmal Purja is missing after an avalanche swept away his group of 10 climbers on Broad Peak (8,047m) in the Karakoram range on Thursday. The incident occurred at 9:30 local time when the avalanche hit the group at approximately 6,600 meters altitude, shortly after they passed the lower part of the mountain.
According to Pakistani authorities, four bodies have been recovered in the lower area of the mountain, with two identified as Omani eight-thousander Nadhira Al Harthy and Nepali high mountain guide Pur Bahadur Gurung, who worked for Purja's Elite Exped company.
