Cholowsky, a 6-foot-2 right-handed hitter, was a Golden Spikes finalist who posted a 1.088 OPS with 21 homers and 60 RBIs in his junior season at UCLA. He had the option to be selected high in next year's draft but returned for his junior year, helping UCLA become the first college team to be ranked No. 1 for an entire season.

The White Sox earned the No. 1 pick after losing 102 games last season and winning the draft lottery.
