Germany's Oberstdorf to Host Ski World Championships 2031

Oberstdorf secured the hosting rights with 16 votes against 6 for Slovenia's Planica in the FIS vote. FIS President Alexander Oepelt congratulated Oberstdorf on what he described as an impressive bid from one of the most iconic locations in Nordic skiing. The German ski resort has previously hosted the World Championships three times, most notably in 2021 when Norway won 13 gold, 11 silver, and 7 bronze medals.
