Warburton Knocks on World Title Door

Gerome Warburton, after winning the WBA Continental Middleweight title with a unanimous decision over Nathan Heaney, says a world title shot is "madness" given his current ranking.

Warburton, 30, stunned former British champion Nathan Heaney in Manchester to claim the WBA Continental belt. With 17 wins from 21 fights, the Colwyn Bay native now sits 11th in the WBA rankings and sees a world title still a distant dream. He dedicated the victory to his son Roman, who proudly held the belt after the fight.
