Rahm Accuses European Tour of Extortion

Spanish golfer Jon Rahm has accused the European Tour of extortion amid negotiations over sanctions for playing in LIV Golf events.

Rahm and other LIV Golf players are being pressured to sign a two-way agreement that would avoid fines for participating in Saudi tournaments, but require them to settle outstanding debts and play a minimum number of European Tour events this season.

The negotiations are conducted individually, with Rahm being offered a deal to play six European Tour tournaments, including two chosen by the organization. However, Rahm has refused, stating he will only compete in the minimum four required to maintain his tour card, calling the demands "extortionate."
