Colts Optimistic About Ward's 2026 Future

Indianapolis Colts executives remain optimistic about cornerback Charvarius Ward's future with the team for the 2026 season despite his concussion history.

Despite suffering three concussions during the 2025 season, Ward is reportedly in a good frame of mind and considering a return to the field. 'He's in a good frame of mind... all indications is he's wanting to move forward and play,' said Colts general manager Chris Ballard.

Head coach Shane Steichen echoed the sentiment, noting Ward is 'in a good headspace, feeling good.' Ward had previously expressed uncertainty about his NFL future, stating if he gets one more concussion, he would probably retire. In seven games last season, Ward allowed a completion rate of just 57% on 37 targets with seven pass breakups.
