Raza Leads Zimbabwe to 2026 T20 World Cup

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza led celebrations as his side qualified for the Super Eights of the 2026 T20 World Cup after their match against Ireland was washed out.

At 39, Raza has been instrumental in Zimbabwe's campaign, leading from the front with both bat and ball. His 26-ball 45 against Sri Lanka helped Zimbabwe top their group, while his bowling leadership saw him take the new ball to protect his pacers in the Powerplay.

Former Zimbabwe opener Dion Ebrahim hailed Raza as a 'global superstar' after their victory over Sri Lanka, praising his brilliance and comparing him to cricketing greats. Raza sits second in the ICC T20 allrounder's list and has scored 2958 runs with 103 wickets in 130 matches for Zimbabwe.
