Werder Bremen Cancels US Tour Over ICE Shootings

German soccer club Werder Bremen has cancelled a planned trip to the United States following the fatal shootings of two American citizens by federal agents in Minneapolis.

Werder Bremen will no longer visit Minnesota or Detroit after announcing the cancellation of its US tour. The club stated that playing in a city with such unrest does not align with their values, and they were unsure if players could legally enter the U.S. due to recent changes in entry requirements.

The decision comes after the fatal shootings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti by ICE and Border Patrol agents in Minneapolis.
