Danny Murphy questions Chelsea over signing Liam Delap

Danny Murphy has questioned Chelsea’s decision to sign Liam Delap, insisting Nicolas Jackson is a bigger goal threat. The pundit told talkSPORT that Jackson has performed better in his first season at Stamford Bridge compared to Delap's struggles, where he has scored just one Premier League goal in 24 appearances. Despite the Blues paying £30m to beat competition for the Ipswich striker, Murphy believes Cole Palmer misses Jackson's presence.

Delap has found it difficult under new manager Enzo Maresca, playing second fiddle to Joao Pedro, while Jackson is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. Chelsea will need to find a solution for the forward once his loan expires, with interest mounting from clubs across Europe.
