Steelers DB Wagner, key to dynasty, dies at 76

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Mike Wagner, a key member of the team's legendary Steel Curtain dynasty, has died at 76, the franchise announced Wednesday.

Wagner, who played 10 seasons for the Steelers from 1971-1981, recorded interceptions in Pittsburgh's first two Super Bowl victories and was part of four championship teams. He was drafted in the 11th round in 1971 and earned two Pro Bowl nods during his career.

Steelers owner Art Rooney II called Wagner 'a tremendous player and an integral part of some of the most successful teams in Pittsburgh Steelers history' in a statement. No cause of death was provided. Wagner is survived by his family, and the organization extended 'heartfelt condolences' to them.
