Canada's Steven Dubois Wins Olympic Gold in Short Track 500m

Canada's Steven Dubois powered to victory in the men's 500-meter short track speed skating final on Wednesday, securing gold with a time of 40.835 seconds.

Dubois, who started in the second position, exploded off the line to take the lead before the first turn and never relinquished it. The 28-year-old Canadian finished ahead of Dutch brothers Melle van 't Wout (silver, 40.912s) and Jens van 't Wout (bronze, 41.908s). The race turned chaotic when Canadian William Dandjinou collided with Teun Boer, resulting in a penalty for Dandjinou and creating the space for Dubois to extend his lead.
