Shiffrin Wins Second Olympic Slalom Gold

Mikaela Shiffrin captured her second Olympic slalom gold medal on Wednesday, 12 years after her first triumph, becoming the first American skier to win three Olympic golds.

The 30-year-old American dominated the women's slalom in the Dolomites with a two-run time of 1min 39.10sec, finishing over 1.5 seconds ahead of Switzerland's Camille Rast, who took silver. Sweden's Anna Swenn Larsson secured the bronze, with the rest of the field trailing by at least two seconds.

Shiffrin's victory marked her first Olympic gold since 2018 and established her as the most decorated American alpine skier in Olympic history.
