Schottenheimer: Cowboys 'pretty poor' in Week 1 loss

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer called his team's Week 1 performance against the Giants 'pretty poor' after a 28-20 loss. 'As a football team, we were pretty poor,' Schottenheimer said. 'This is a humbling business and we got humbled tonight. That's what I told the guys. We lost mile one of a 17-mile marathon, and we have to be better, and we will be better.' sportnewz.click

Schottenheimer questioned if he'd been on a team with a more disappointing opener, noting they didn't perform to their capabilities on offense or defense. However, he assured fans they won't panic, stating 'This is a long season, and we know we're not going to go undefeated.'
