49ers' Collins Out for Season with Knee Injury

Published September 9, 2026 · Updated September 9, 2026 · NBC Sports

49ers defensive tackle Alfred Collins tore his patellar tendon in practice this week and is out for the season, coach Kyle Shanahan announced.

The 49ers had listed Collins as a limited participant in Tuesday's practice (Wednesday in Australia). With Thompson missing practice with a hamstring injury and Halton limited with an ankle injury, the team may call up Sebastian Valdez or Kevin Givens from the practice squad for Thursday's season opener against the Rams.

Collins, a second-round pick in 2025, played 16 games last season with 17 tackles, one sack, and four quarterback hits. The 49ers are currently in Melbourne preparing for their season opener. forumteam.blog
