Trae Young Nears Wizards Debut, Anthony Davis Still Recovering

Trae Young is getting closer to his Washington Wizards debut after an MCL sprain and thigh bruise, while Anthony Davis remains out as the team evaluates his hand injury recovery.

The Wizards say Trae Young will ramp up basketball activities to finish his recovery from an MCL sprain and a thigh bruise, and he will be evaluated next week. Young, 27, last played on Dec. 27 and has been practicing in one‑on‑one and two‑on‑two drills.

Anthony Davis, 32, who was traded from Dallas earlier this month, has not played since Jan. 8 after rehabbing ligament damage in his hand. He is in Washington for a visit to hand surgeon Steven Shin and will be reevaluated in two weeks.
