India ended their campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a total of 39 medals — 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze. Despite competing in a truncated edition of the Games with fewer sports and a smaller contingent, Indian athletes delivered memorable performances across athletics, para-athletics, boxing, judo, para-powerlifting and weightlifting.
Athletics
India won 10 medals in athletics, with strong performances in both track and field events.
Sarvesh Anil Kushare opened India’s athletics medal account with a silver in the men’s high jump.
Gulveer Singh claimed silver in the men’s 10,000m before adding a bronze in the men’s 5,000m.
Sreeshankar Murali secured silver in the men’s long jump with a leap of 8.09m
Seema Kaliramna won bronze in the women’s discus throw with 58.69m.
Tejaswin Shankar created history by winning bronze in the men’s decathlon, becoming India’s first Commonwealth Games medallist in the event.
Neeraj Chopra returned to the Commonwealth Games podium with a season-best throw of 85.83m to claim silver in the men’s javelin.
Yash Vir Singh earned bronze in the men’s javelin throw with a personal best effort of 85.41m.

India enjoyed an excellent campaign in para-athletics, collecting six medals.
Sharmila Dhankar won gold in the women’s shot put F57 with a 9.81m throw. Shilpa K. Shyla finished with a bronze in the same event.
Dilip Mahadu Gavit produced a Games record of 10.71 to win gold in the men’s 100m T47, while Mohammed Basil M took the silver.
Soman Rana claimed gold in the men’s shot put F57 with his season best throw of 13.40m and Shubham Juyal secured the silver.

Boxing was India’s most successful sport at the competition, accounting for 10 medals.

Indian judokas bagged four medals.
Asmita Dey became India’s first Commonwealth Games judo gold medallist after winning the women’s 48kg title.

Para-Powerlifting
Jhandu Kumar won bronze in the men’s heavyweight category which gave India their first medal of the Games.
Weightlifting
Weightlifting once again delivered a good performance to add to India’s medal tally.
Mirabai Chanu continued her dominance by winning a third straight Commonwealth Games gold in the women’s 48kg category.
Rishikanta Singh claimed silver in the men’s 60kg event with the total of 264kg.
Raja Muthupandi secured silver in the men’s 65kg category after lifting a total of 286kg on his debut.
Gyaneshwari Yadav, who lifted a total of 199kg, won silver in the women’s 53kg event.
Bindyarani Devi earned bronze in the women’s 58kg category with a total of 199kg lift.
V. Ajaya Babu claimed silver in the men’s 79kg event with a total lift of 330kg.
Harjinder Kaur won silver in the women’s 69kg category with a total lift of 227kg.
Lovepreet Singh added another silver in the men’s 110+kg category after lifting 388kg, while missing the gold by just 1kg.
