KANKAN- Le Karfamoriah FC poursuit sa restructuration ambitieuse. Après avoir recruté plusieurs joueurs du championnat national de Ligue 1, le club de Kankan jette désormais son dévolu sur Casimir Jagiello, un technicien qui connaît bien le football guinéen. L’information a été officialisée ce mardi 11 août 2026 via la page Facebook officielle du club.

Si la durée de son contrat n’a pas été dévoilée, le technicien polonais prendra fonction le 1er septembre prochain. Casimir Jagiello connaît bien l’environnement du football guinéen. Il a notamment été Directeur sportif du Milo FC de Kankan, avant de prendre les commandes du Hafia FC, avec lequel il a remporté le championnat de Guinée en 2023. Il a ensuite poursuivi son parcours en Mauritanie, notamment au FC Nouadhibou en 2025.

Pour le club de Kankan, cette nomination s’inscrit dans une nouvelle dynamique visant à renforcer son organisation et ses ambitions sportives. Karfamoriah FC explique ainsi que : michezonews.co.za

« Cette nomination s’inscrit dans la volonté de Karfamoriah FC de franchir une nouvelle étape dans la professionnalisation et la structuration de son projet sportif, avec l’ambition d’installer durablement le Club parmi les références du football guinéen et de renforcer sa compétitivité. Dans ses nouvelles fonctions, Coach Casimir aura la responsabilité de l’ensemble des activités sportives du Club ».

Une responsabilité qui s’annonce donc particulièrement large pour le technicien polonais, puisque son périmètre couvrira notamment l’équipe première, la supervision du staff technique, le recrutement et le scouting, la gestion et la valorisation de l’effectif ainsi que la formation et le développement des jeunes talents. Dans cette nouvelle organisation, le club précise également que Casimir Jagiello disposera d’une autorité sportive et technique sur l’entraîneur principal et son staff.

Une organisation qui traduit, selon Karfamoriah FC, une ambition clairement affichée :

« À travers cette nomination, Karfamoriah FC confirme sa volonté de bâtir un modèle reposant sur une organisation sportive structurée, le développement des jeunes joueurs et une culture de la performance ».

Now, just one two-legged hurdle stands between Dogo and a spot in the prestigious 18-team UWCL league phase (formerly known as the group stage).

There is zero time to rest on her laurels. With the on-pitch heroics wrapped up, the drama moves to Switzerland this afternoon.

The official draw for the deciding third qualifying round takes place today, Tuesday, August 11, at 3:00 PM EAT in Nyon.

Uganda have completed a double over Zambia in their Rugby Africa U20 Barthes Trophy 2026 First Division contest, winning the second of two legs 27-12 on Tuesday to gain promotion to the Performance Division.

Following their 81-0 thumping victory in the first match on Friday, the hosts dominated again at Muteesa II Stadium but failed to finish several chances they created, giving the Zambians breathing space in a vastly improved performance by the Southern Africans.

Uganda have earned a ticket to the Performance Division, replacing Tunisia, who have been relegated following a 38-12 defeat to Zimbabwe earlier in the day.

Flankers Sharif Tibo and Victor Agaba, centre Jacob Abaasa and lock Prince Kakaire all crossed the whitewash for Uganda, who were once again the better side in all departments.

The young Zambian side was more fluent when running the ball, with their backline showcasing speed and attacking flair.

They were rewarded with tries from scrum-half Kabwe Mulenga and flanker Andrea Ngosa as the Zambians finished the tournament on an encouraging note, making amends for their poor showing in the first tie.

Uganda captain Elijah Kantinti praised Zambia for their performance in the second leg.

“I would like to say thanks to Zambia for upping the challenge,” said Kantinti.

“With regards to the last game, we had it easier, but today they really gave us a good game.”

Kantinti added that he expects the competition to “get tighter” in the Performance Division and urged the Junior Rugby Cranes to “up the challenge.”

Chama Kamuntu, Zambia’s captain, was also delighted by his team’s performance despite the defeat.

“It wasn’t easy, but it’s all about the heart. As long as you give 150 percent, everything else doesn’t matter. The boys didn’t do well in the last game; they just needed a bit of a boost. I’m proud of them,” Kamuntu said.

Uganda will now finish the tournament with a youth Test match against Zimbabwe on 15 August.

The East Africans have a proud history in Africa’s premier youth competition. They won the second tier of the championship in 2015 when the tournament was hosted in Kampala. The Junior Rugby Cranes last competed in the Performance Division in 2023, finishing seventh.

SA U18 scored eight tries in a crushing victory against Ireland U18 at Boland Landbou on Tuesday.

The hosts won their second match in the U18 International Series 51-15 having led 24-5 at the break.

As was the case in the 52-7 thrashing of the French, SA U18 captain Jacobus de Villiers was a live wire and his high work rate was rewarded with two of his team’s four tries in the first half. The others were scored by wings Lamla Mgedezi and Anesu Kuzonyei.

Following Alex Moloney’s solo try in the opening period, Ireland started the second half brightly when captain and scrumhalf Luke Coffey crossed for their second unconverted try to reduce the deficit.

However, SA U18 responded with two tries by replacement hooker Charles Whitehead to put the game out of reach.

Replacements Stefan van der Vyfer and Clement Makelele added two more tries, while Ireland replacement outside back Johnny Wood bagged a third try for his side.

Earlier on Tuesday, SA U18 A beat Georgia U20 20-0 and England U18 beat France U18 40-26.

The final round of the series takes place at Stellenberg High School on Saturday. SA U18 A take on France at 11:30am, Ireland face Georgia at 1:30pm and SA U18 are up against England at 3:30pm.
