Falcons put A.J. Terrell on injured reserve

The Falcons won't have cornerback A.J. Terrell in the lineup against the Packers on Thursday night and his absence will continue well beyond Week 3.

Terrell left Sunday's loss to the Panthers to be evaluated for both a concussion and a groin injury. He did not suffer a concussion, but missed the rest of the game with the groin injury that landed him on injured reserve on Tuesday.

C.J. Henderson stepped in for Terrell against Carolina and is the likely starter alongside Mike Hughes. Billy Bowman was inactive for the Carolina game, but would join Avieon Terrell, Mike Ford, and Malcolm DeWalt as other corner options if he's healthy.

The Falcons filled the open roster spot by signing defensive lineman Zach Harrison off of their practice squad. They also announced that they have released center James Brockermeyer from the practice squad and signed offensive tackle Colby Sorsdal.

Ertz Returns to Eagles Practice Squad

Former Eagles star Zach Ertz, 35, is back with the team where his NFL career began. The three-time Pro Bowler signed with the practice squad on Monday after Goedert suffered an MCL sprain in Week 2. 'I'm just really happy to be back and honored to be back in the Eagles green,' Ertz said in a Tuesday press conference.

Ertz spent his first eight-plus seasons with Philadelphia (2013-21) before playing for the Cardinals and Commanders. He is second in Eagles franchise history in receptions (579) and needs just 11 catches to pass Hall of Famer Harold Carmichael for first place. Ertz was instrumental in the Eagles' Super Bowl LII victory, catching the go-ahead touchdown in the final minutes.
