Matt Nagy: Odell Beckham is not just a backup, we want to get him involved
Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy says there's still a place for wide receiver Odell Beckham in the offense.
Through two games this season, Beckham has played 14 snaps and has yet to have a pass thrown to him. But when Nagy was asked about Beckham today, he insisted that there's a role for him.
"Odell is — he does a lot of good things well," Nagy said. "We're trying to slowly package him into some things offensively. It's not that he's just a backup. There's times when, whatever it is personnel wise, we have it in the game plan and we just didn't get to it. You've got to be ready, one injury away from being in all the time. He knows that, he understands that." amunra.qpon
Realistically, though, the Giants look like a rebuilding team, and Beckham is 33 and several years past his prime. If he doesn't start contributing soon, it may be time for the Giants to move on, and give his roster spot to a younger player.
Alcaraz tops the bill as the Laver Cup returns to London still aiming to prove its worth
The Ryder Cup-style event has struggled financially since its legendary founder, Roger Federer, retired but still offers a spectacle unlike any other in tennis
The sight of a tennis player marching to the bathroom between sets has become increasingly common in modern tennis but Alexander Zverev’s journey back to the locker room in Prague nine years ago remains particularly remarkable. On this occasion, Zverev happened to be sandwiched between two of the greatest male players of all time. Neither legend was happy.
To his right, an incensed Roger Federer spent their walk back to the locker room brutally laying down the law: “I want a fistpump or a ‘Let’s go!’ every fucking point you win,” he said. “And every point you lose, you fucking take it like a man. Because the problem is, when you don’t have the [result] you want, it’s like: ‘Ah, I knew it. Fuck, shit.’ I don’t want … honestly!”

John Lynch on Mac Jones: QB is a good spot to be well insulated
Injuries to Jayden Daniels and Jaxson Dart have led to a lot of chatter about what the Commanders and Giants could do to bolster their quarterback rooms before their seasons are lost.
One backup quarterback who was the subject of trade speculation during the offseason is Mac Jones, but the 49ers never seemed interested in moving him to another club. During an appearance on KNBR Thursday, 49ers General Manager John Lynch declined to say if he's gotten any calls about Jones in recent days but did say that he likes having depth at the position.
"I'm going to leave that alone," Lynch said, via 49ersWebzone.com. "What I will tell you is I think a lot of people see all of that and say, 'Okay, there's opportunity.' It also tells you we're very fortunate to have a guy like Brock, franchise quarterback. But then to have a guy like Mac, in the event, there's no more important position in football. They're all important, but I think we know, as your quarterback goes, so goes your team. And so, I think it's a really special situation to have Brock [Purdy] here, to have Mac here, and then to have a guy we're really excited about with Kurtis Rourke. And I think back to Bill Walsh, and maybe he was onto something when he had Joe Montana, but he also brought Steve Young in here, and had Steve Bono behind them. So, it's a good position to be in a position of strength at, and it provides opportunities in a number of ways. The most important way being you're well insulated in the event something were ever to happen."
Jones started eight games for the 49ers last season when Purdy was injured and the 49ers went 5-3 in those games on their way to making the playoffs. Should Lynch entertain the thought of moving Jones, that memory is likely to keep the price tag high in any trade talks.
