When Jamie Overton reported to Lord’s last Friday for the start of the new Hundred season, he experienced something that, even in the often head-spinning world of franchise cricket, was extraordinary, potentially unique. Returning to a team he played for in 2025, he would have looked around the dressing room and seen none of his former teammates. He is the only survivor of the men’s squad from last year, part of a team that will be led by a new head coach, assisted by new coaches for batting, fielding, spin and pace bowling.
“It definitely does feel like a different competition this year, because every team is effectively different,” he says. “Oval Invincibles were the best side over the last three or four years, but that’s spread out a little bit now and every side you look at them and go: ‘Oh yeah, they’ve got a good team.’

Chiefs release renderings of new stadium, a building "built for noise"
The Chiefs will leave Arrowhead Stadium for a new indoor home in Kansas in 2031, but they're promising their fans will sound as loud as ever.
The team released renderings of the new stadium design today, and owner Clark Hunt said he's confident fans are going to like what they see — and hear.
"Today we are excited to show Chiefs Kingdom a first look at our new home," Hunt said. "From the beginning, our goal has been to build something that improved the gameday experience for every single fan. This new stadium will do just that. It's spectacular. It honors the rich legacy of this franchise while setting a bold course for the future of Chiefs Kingdom. While we're still finalizing many of the details, there are a few things we know for sure: it will hold 70,000 fans, it will still be the best place in the world to tailgate, and the whole building will be built for noise."
The indoor stadium represents another step away from football in the elements, with Kansas City no longer playing in the cold and snow in December and January, as they have for decades.
The new stadium will have a translucent roof that the team describes as "maximizing visibility for military flyovers."
The stadium is expected to cost $3 billion, of which taxpayers are paying $1.8 billion.
Philipsen Wins Tour de France Stage 17
Belgian Jasper Philipsen claimed victory in the 17th stage of the Tour de France on Wednesday, winning the sprint finish ahead of Swiss Mauro Schmid and Dutch Olav Kooij in Voiron. Philipsen, perfectly emmené by teammate Mathieu van der Poel, secured his 11th career Tour win, adding to his 2023 green jersey triumph. The yellow jersey wearer Tadej Pogacar and other favorites finished minutes behind in a second peloton.
