Javier Tebas says Gianni Infantino’s position as Fifa president is untenable, claiming he is “destroying the very essence of football” while calling for reform at the highest levels of the game. macnevers-and-co.beer
The La Liga president, who is a longstanding and vociferous critic of the current Fifa regime, said “the Infantino era is over” and called for control of the game to be expanded beyond the current “elite”.

Vollering adds to her 2023 Tour de France Femmes success
The Dutch rider Demi Vollering won the Women’s Tour de France for the second time after riding to victory in Sunday’s ninth and final stage to extend her winning margin.
The 2023 champion raised her bike in the air moments after crossing the finish line in Nice well clear of Polish rider Kasia Niewiadoma, the 2024 champion. She started Sunday’s stage eight seconds behind Vollering, who earned a time bonus for winning the stage.

Receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. is back in San Francisco, and back in the number he wore from 2019 through 2023: 19.
Coach Kyle Shanahan explained on Saturday that any contract-driven awkwardness from years past is a non-issue now.
“Deebo's always been one of the closest guys we've been to, just relationship-wise," Shanahan told reporters. "When Deebo went through his contract negotiations, [I'll] try not to put words in his mouth, but I think he thought it'd be advantageous to make it look like there was a little bit of a battle. Sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't. . . .
"Those OTAs [in 2022], I was at Deebo's house on the eighth OTA day, and I was talking about how all that was just BS. He came to minicamp. We had a great summer together. I think he signed the first day back at training camp. We got over that in OTAs. That was just stuff from the negotiating periods back in April and stuff. There were stuff, definitely, that made me like, ‘What the hell is going on?’ We're not around Deebo. Then we see him in OTAs and we got to talk man-to-man and it was fine as soon as we got with each other.”
Shanahan also said that Deebo's return was unrelated to losing receiver Ricky Pearsall for the entire season.
"They're just two completely different types of players," Shanahan said. "Deebo was someone that we were hoping it would work out, depending on Deebo's other opportunities and what it could be here. That was something that we were hoping for a long time could work out and it ended up working out for both of us. The Ricky thing changed nothing.”
And so both Samuel and linebacker Dre Greenlaw have returned to the 49ers, after a year elsewhere. Shanahan believes it will make a difference for the team.
"They've been away for a year, but to see them out there, they look exactly like the guys I remember,” Shanahan said.
That's good news for the 49ers, who will need everything they can to compete with the Rams and Seahawks in the NFC West.
Ny Rosenborg-seier etter sjansedrama
I et svært sjanserikt oppgjør var det Rosenborg som til slutt kunne juble for tre poeng borte mot Lillestrøm. Det endte til slutt med en 2-0-seier for trønderne på Åråsen.
«Fugla» gikk med det på sitt tredje strake tap.
– Det var en nydelig seier. Det varmer mitt hjerte. Det er ikke så lenge siden vi ikke vant på bortebane og slet med å score mål, sier RBK-trener Freyr Alexandersson til TV2.
– Vi skaper store nok sjanser til å score. Men vi må bruke ballen og være tålmodige, sånn at vi skaper større sjanser, mente LSK-trener Hans Erik Ødegaard i intervju med kanalen.
Etter 38 spilte minutter havnet ballen i beina på Noah Sahsah som banket ballen i nettet med breisiden av foten.
Rosenborg hadde utallige muligheter til å punktere kampen i andre omgang, samtidig som Lillestrøm traff treverket flere ganger.
Til slutt dukket Amin Chiakha opp i boksen og satte spikeren i kista for RBK.
Freyr Alexandersson har vunnet fire av fem kamper etter at han tok over som RBK-trener i sommer.
Rosenborg tar dermed et kraftig byks på tabellen opp til 8. plass.
Trønderne går inn en tøff kampperiode der de møter regjerende seriemestere Viking i neste eliteserierunde og Bodø/Glimt i kampen etter det.
