Besiktas Reportedly Make Opening Offer for Mohamed Salah

Besiktas have reportedly made an offer to Mohamed Salah, as the Egyptian captain reduced his initial €15 million annual salary demand. solvita.blog
According to reports, Salah’s representatives arrived in Istanbul to continue talks with the Super Lig club.
Besiktas is said to have made its first formal approach to Salah’s camp. According to Turkish journalist Efecan Öztaş, the meeting between the two sides “went positively,” adding that the 34-year-old is “inclined to wearing a jersey in Turkey.”
Earlier reports placed Salah’s initial annual salary demand at €15 million. His wage request represented the main obstacle to a deal. Both sides continued talks to reduce the total cost.
The latest claims contradict comments from Besiktas president Serdal Adalı three days earlier. On July 14, Adalı dismissed the reports linking Salah with the club.
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, provided an earlier update on Friday. He did not identify any potential destination.
“We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season, but we may know very soon,” Abbas wrote.
Salah most recently represented Egypt at the 2026 World Cup. He recorded one goal and two assists across five appearances.
Egypt reached the round of 16 before losing 3-2 to Argentina. The Pharaohs had taken a two-goal lead against the defending champions.

World Cup 2026: FIFA provides special services for visually impaired fans
Miami: The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced the provision of specialized services for fans with disabilities (the blind) at the FIFA World Cup 2026. These services are designed to enhance their ability to follow match play details through expanded resources aimed at giving them an unforgettable matchday experience.
In its statement, FIFA noted that thanks to audio-descriptive commentary (ADC) and haptic boards, blind or low-vision fans can now enjoy a fully immersive experience when attending matches. Previously, these fans had to rely on companions to describe the action on the pitch or resort to standard commentary geared toward sighted viewers.
FIFA explained that audio-descriptive commentary will be provided in English and French for matches held in Canada, and in English and Spanish for matches hosted in the United States and Mexico. Fans can access this service via the "FIFA Audio Description" app, which is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
The statement indicated that haptic board units will be distributed to fans with disabilities at select matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026, specifically at stadiums in Dallas (Texas), New York New Jersey, Seattle (Washington), and Vancouver (British Columbia).
FIFA emphasized that these haptic devices enable blind and low-vision fans to feel the game as it unfolds in real time by translating live match action into tactile and audio feedback. This ensures that every goal, tackle, and moment of play can be experienced directly from the stands.
The organization noted that combining both services inside the venue delivers a truly immersive experience, bringing together the stadium crowd noise, audio-descriptive commentary, and tactile feedback.
The statement highlighted that this initiative is part of FIFA's ongoing focus on social responsibility and inclusivity. Additional accessibility services will be available at the World Cup 2026, including trained venue staff to assist attendees with sensory needs and support fans with other diverse requirements.
The organization added that this year's tournament will be the first edition to feature sign language interpretation for all matches, available both for fans inside the stadium and those following the action from elsewhere. Mobility assistance services, accessibility passes, and other amenities will also be provided.
Messi leads as Golden Boot race intensifies in knockouts
Doha, Qatar: The FIFA World Cup group stage has come to a close, but the race for one of the tournament’s most coveted individual honours is only just beginning.
With 72 matches completed, 215 goals scored and 143 different players finding the back of the net, the battle for the Golden Boot promises to add another layer of intrigue to the knockout rounds. Of the 143 goalscorers, 117 remain in the competition with the opportunity to add to their tally.
At the top of the standings sits a familiar name, one who has been rewriting the World Cup record books throughout his illustrious career. Lionel Messi has once again placed himself at the centre of the tournament’s story. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has demonstrated why he remains the heartbeat of the reigning world champions.
The Argentine captain finished the group stage as the tournament’s leading scorer with six goals, capping his remarkable run with a stunning free-kick against Jordan. That goal made Messi the first player to score in seven consecutive FIFA World Cups and extended his own record as the competition’s all-time leading goalscorer to 19 goals, moving the benchmark even further out of reach for those chasing him.
Hot on his heels is a quartet of players on four goals, each emerging as a genuine contender for the tournament’s top scorer award.

Brazil winger Vinicius Junior has carried his team with his pace and flair, while France boast not one but two challengers in Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. Completing the group is Norway’s prolific striker Erling Haaland, whose goals fired the Vikings into the knockout stage in their first World Cup appearance for nearly three decades.
Just behind them sits an equally impressive group of challengers on three goals. Nine players have netted three times during the group stage, including England captain Harry Kane, Brazil’s Matheus Cunha, Canada’s Jonathan David, DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa, Germany striker Deniz Undav, Morocco midfielder Ismael Saibari, Netherlands forward Brian Brobbey, Senegal winger Ismaïla Sarr and Switzerland’s Johan Manzambi.
One productive evening in the knockout rounds could dramatically reshape the leaderboard, with many of the tournament’s biggest stars still very much alive.
One familiar name, however, sits further down the standings.
Cristiano Ronaldo may have scored only twice in Portugal’s three group-stage matches, but the veteran captain has already achieved something no player before him has managed. His goals against Uzbekistan made him the first footballer in history to score in six different FIFA World Cups. While he trails the leading scorers, few would be willing to rule out another late surge as Portugal chase the biggest prize of all.
A total of 21 players are currently on two goals, with Ronaldo among them, and 19 of those players remain in the competition with the opportunity to add to their tally in the knockout rounds.
History suggests that the tournament’s top scorer is often decided by performances in the latter stages rather than the group phase. With the world’s biggest stars still standing and every goal now carrying even greater significance, Messi may lead the race today, but the pursuit of football’s most prestigious individual prize is far from over.
