Every contender needs a guy like Vincent Trocheck.
He proved his worth during the Olympics in being a gritty grinder en route to Team USA's gold medal.
Now, Trocheck could be a trade candidate.
The New York Rangers have already dealt Artemi Panarin, and more veterans seem likely to go as they rebuild.
Trocheck is definitely a candidate, and insider James Murphy reports that the Minnesota Wild and Detroit Red Wings are two of the teams interested.

The 32-year old center is originally from Pittsburgh, and he was a third-round pick by the Florida Panthers in 2011.
He spent his first seven NHL seasons with the Panthers. He then spent two-plus seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes.
This is Trocheck's first season with the Rangers.
He's played 43 NHL games this season and has 36 points (12 goals, 24 assists).

Trockeck also has dished out 130 hits and blocked 34 shots this season.
With 844 NHL games under his belt, Trocheck has the experience and grit needed to complete a contender's roster.
Right now, it appears he's heading north toward either Minnesota or Detroit.
