Barcelona midfielder Gavi is entering the most important phase of his recovery and his eyes are already fixed on the next World Cup.
According to SPORT, the 21-year-old is highly motivated to return in time to fight for a place in Spain’s squad.
After months of frustration on the sidelines, the young midfielder is finally back training with the group, taking careful steps toward full fitness.
Gavi has been out of top-level competition for nearly five months following surgery on his right knee meniscus on September 23.
The procedure forced him into a long rehabilitation process, but now he is gradually reintegrating into team sessions.
His workload remains controlled, with both the medical department and coaching staff keeping a close watch on every movement.
Within Barcelona, it has been made very clear that there will be no shortcuts.
Barcelona are cautious
The club believes it would make little sense to rush his return after showing patience for months.
The priority is to help Gavi regain confidence, rhythm and match sharpness without risking setbacks.

A knee injury is delicate, and Barcelona want him to feel completely secure before stepping back into competitive action.
As such, optimism is growing internally, as the upcoming international break could actually benefit him, giving him uninterrupted weeks of training without the pressure of immediate match demands.
The plan is for him to complete full sessions consistently, increase intensity step by step, and reconnect with the feeling of being a competitive footballer.
The national team objective
For Gavi, the past months have been difficult and now, feeling useful to the team again before the end of the season is his short-term objective.
Meanwhile, Luis de la Fuente has maintained regular contact with him.
The Spain coach is closely following his progress and understands both the risks and the potential reward.
De la Fuente has never hidden his admiration for the Barcelona midfielder and believes he could still play a role if he reaches the required level in time.
Reaching the World Cup will not be easy, as competition in Spain’s midfield is fierce. Despite that, if Gavi regains his rhythm and intensity, the door will not be closed.
