Official: Real Madrid confirm the injury of midfield star; player ruled out for seven weeks

Real Madrid’s problems have been compounded further as the club have been dealt yet another injury blow.

Just a day after succumbing to a 2-1 loss at the hands of CA Osauna, the club have now confirmed the injury of Dani Ceballos.

The Spanish midfielder had a horror night against Osasuna, making two notable errors, one of which led to Osasuna’s winning goal. The player later apologised to the fans for his mistakes, taking ownership of his actions.

Details of Ceballos’ injury

In an official statement, Real Madrid have confirmed Ceballos has been diagnosed with a muscle tear in the soleus muscle in his right leg.

According to COPE, Ceballos’ fresh injury could rule him out of action for at least seven weeks. This means he will miss most of the key matches that will define Real Madrid’s season.

Although the Spaniard wasn’t a key component in Alvaro Arbeloa’s plans, his injury will put pressure on the team by restricting the coach’s rotational options.

From a long-term perspective, this will mark the end of Ceballos’ stint at Real Madrid, with recent reports suggesting that the club are more than keen on offloading the player in the summer.

Club president Florentino Perez is not happy with Ceballos at all and it appears Real Madrid are ready to sanction his sale for just €10 million at the end of the season.

If there was a chance of a late revival, those chances disappeared after his poor showing against Osasuna. And now, with the injury, the Spaniard will no longer be able to prove himself at the Bernabeu.
