Bryce Harper has seen plenty of elite talent come through professional baseball, and when he speaks highly of a young prospect, it often means that said player can be among the best in the game eventually.
The Philadelphia Phillies superstar recently shared a short but sweet assessment of young outfield prospect Justin Crawford, offering a three-word comment that shows how good he can be one day if things go as planned.
“Sky’s the limit,” Harper said of Crawford, per NBC Sports Philly.
Crawford, one of the Phillies’ most exciting young players, has been viewed as someone who can make things happen at the highest level. He’ll get his first cup of coffee in the show this spring, barring something drastic happening.
The son of former MLB All-Star Carl Crawford, he also understands what it takes to play at this level due to being around the game.
Regarding Harper’s comments, it reflects a belief and a hope of him being what he can be. As the face of the franchise, his support should also give a ton of confidence to Crawford.
For a Phillies roster built to contend now, Crawford will deal with some stress as fans will be looking for him to perform instantly. We’ll see how things look in the near future, but the future is bright.
