Rumors Intensify of Hardy Boyz WWE Return in 2026: 5 Matches We Want, Including Vs. The Usos

The team, once known in WWE as the Hardy Boyz, has had a very successful run in their second stint with TNA Wrestling. Yet, what makes this latest tenure with the company different is TNA’s working relationship with their former employer. That relationship has allowed the Hardys to make the jump to WWE for occasional appearances in NXT.

However, Matt Hardy suggested last year that the pair would be back on WWE TV again, and added fuel to that possibility this week.

“We’re in constant negotiations with WWE about doing some more stuff. We will do more with them,” Hardy told Metro UK. “The relationship with WWE has been great. Anytime we’ve interacted with Shawn Michaels, he was absolutely awesome. Triple H, whoever, we’ve got along with everybody really well. I think you’re going to see some more cool Hardy Boyz moments in WWE before it’s all said and done in 2026.”

With that in mind, we take a look at five matches we need to see the Hardy Boyz in against WWE talent in 2026.

Hardy Boyz vs. The Usos

Jeff Hardy is 48, and Matt Hardy is 51. Their bump card is almost full, so they need to make the most of the remaining time they have left in the industry. That’s why checking off some historic clashes is a must. The brothers from North Carolina were, arguably, the best of their era. That is why facing off with The Usos has to happen.

They are both brother tandems that will be going into the WWE Hall of Fame and are the best of their generations. Before the Hardy Boyz are done, they need to face the Usos at least once.

Hardy Boyz vs. Wyatt Sicks

Matt Hardy has a history with Bo Dallas’ deceased brother Bray Wyatt. When the elder Hardy used his “Broken Matt” character in WWE, he and the former WWE champion held the tag titles. It feels right for the Hardys and the Wyatt Sicks to interact. Especially if the brothers use their “Broken” alternate versions. The clash of dark personalities could deliver some entertaining television.

With the Hardy Boyz being a family affair, it makes sense for them to cross paths with Solo Sikoa’s family tree. However, more than that, if the Hardy Boyz are checking off dream matches, a clash with maybe the best tag team in NJPW, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa, would be something a lot of fans would love to see before they retire.

Hardy Boyz vs. Hank & Tank

There is a good chance that when the Hardy Boyz return to WWE, it will be in NXT again, where they have faced several teams. However, one that they haven’t yet is Hank & Tank. The former NXT tag champs are the best team on the black-and-gold brand because they mix physicality, athleticism, and tomfoolery. Getting the rub from the Hardys would benefit the NXT duo.

Hardy Boyz vs. New Day

Another match long-time WWE fans need to see whenever the Hardy Boyz return to WWE is against the New Day. Like The Usos, New Day is in the running as the best tag team of their generation. The fact that they have never faced the Hardys in a traditional tag match is criminal. That has to change in 2026, for fans and wrestling history’s sake.
