D1Baseball ranks Auburn baseball No. 9 after sweeping its opening weekend, Youngstown State, at Plainsman Park, staying put at the position after checking in at No. 9 in D1Baseball's preseason ranking.
The Tigers are just behind four other SEC teams in the D1Baseball poll: No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Mississippi State, and No. 8 Arkansas. A total of 10 teams from the conference are represented in the latest poll, including Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M.
Auburn dropped its first game of the season Tuesday to Cincinnati, 8-0. However, the Tigers will have a shot to boost their stock in the rankings this weekend by facing No. 15 Louisville and No. 16 Florida State at the Amegy College Baseball Series in Arlington, Texas. Auburn faces Florida State at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday and will close the weekend with Louisville at 10:30 a.m. CT on Sunday.
