Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Yusuf Maart has been included in the Austrian Bundesliga team of the week for matchday 19.

Though his team, SV Ried, played to a 1-1 draw with LASK, Maart was recognised for his stellar performance in the heart of midfield.

The 30-year-old signed for Ried in July 2025, on the back of scoring a winner in the Nedbank Cup final against boyhood club Orlando Pirates, to end Chiefs' decade-long trophy drought.

Maart put pen to paper on a deal that runs until June 2027, with an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

Since completing a move to Europe, he has made 21 appearances across all competitions, with 17 racked up in the league, while providing a solitary assist in the OFB Cup.

The South African international will be aiming to maintain momentum when Ried return to league action with a visit to WSG Tirol on Sunday, 22 February.

Ried sit sixth with 27 points from 19 league outings in the 12-team championship, where they trail log leaders Red Bull Salzburg with six points.
