Former Dodgers Fan Favorite Spends Valentine’s Day with Patients at Children’s Hospital L.A.

Former Los Angeles Dodgers fan favorite Justin Turner and his wife, Kourtney Turner, spent their Valentine’s Day with patients from Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The Turners gifted the patients heart-shaped balloons and goody bags.

Multiple patients at the hospital are big fans of the Dodgers. Turner surprised those patients and their families with Dodgers merchandise like a bobblehead and flag. One patient even had the opportunity to play catch with the 2020 World Series champion.

Turner and wife founded the Justin Turner Foundation in 2016 to help “homeless veterans, children (and their families) battling life-altering illnesses and diseases and various youth baseball organizations.”

The Justin Turner Foundation partnered with the Dream Center to provide housing for 26 male veterans. The foundation also helped create a female Veterans programs, which has provided housing for 18 female veterans. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Justin Turner Foundation and Dream Center hosted a drive-thru & walk-up food & essentials line.

During the holidays since its founding, the Justin Turner Foundation has donated 70,000 toys and 14,000 bicycles to children around the Los Angeles area.

Additionally, Turner has scheduled multiple of his own visits to CHLA, Cedars-Sinai, UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and the Dream Center to spend time with patients and their families.

Turner Won the 2020 World Series Championship With the Dodgers

Turner spent nine seasons with the Dodgers after he signed a minor league deal with Los Angeles in 2014. He earned two National League All-Star selections and was named the 2017 NL Championship Series Most Valuable Player while representing the Dodgers.

Turner won the only World Series title of his career with the Dodgers in 2020. He hit two of his three home runs of the postseason during the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
