The Newark Catholic boys basketball seventh-grade team recently wrapped up an unbeaten season, beating Zanesville 51-45 in the Licking County League tournament championship game.
Reid Gebhart led the Green Wave with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the victory. Tate Tucci added 15 points.
Layton Cox scored 18 points in a 53-40 semifinal victory against Watkins. Tucci added 16 points.
Other team members are Lyncoln Cooper, Jaxson Eveland, Grayson Gilligan, Hudson Lavery, Sam Windon, Cameron Newsome, Lucas Schiele, Heath Gillespie, Dylan Taylor and Luke Guanciale. Coaches are head coach Nate Adams and assistant Griffin Urdarovski.
