Northwestern basketball player Grace Sullivan makes name for herself ahead of WNBA Draft

When Grace Sullivan transferred to Northwestern University last season, it felt like a basketball dream come true for the Antioch native.

"I thought it would be amazing," Sullivan said. "The family aspect helps a lot."

That support has certainly helped Sullivan reach new heights this year, averaging a team high 22 points per game. She is tied for 11th in the country.

But it is no surprise to those who watched her captain Carmel Catholic to their first-ever state title in 2022, with the same hard work and determination in her transition to the Wildcats.

Her coach described her as "a quiet leader."

Sullivan's success has drawn attention from WNBA scouts, something she never thought possible, until now. But it has become her next goal in a journey she knows is not done yet.

"It's just surreal," Sullivan said. "Hope to get there."
